We started serving the local community almost 50 years ago!
Then, back in the 70s, the restaurant scene was far less developed and eating out relatively rare. Indian food was somewhat exotic and novel. However, the people of Primrose Hill, Belsize Park and Hampstead were quick to discover the delights of our cuisine. The Manjill soon became a local favourite.
Since our humble beginnings, our family-run restaurant has remained true to our passion for using the best ingredients and spices in recipes refined over generations. Our aim is to serve customers with wonderful tasting Indian food.
We started serving the local community, the people of Primrose Hill, Belsize Park and Hampstead, in December 1970.
Our customer base grew greatly and included many celebrities from TV and music.
Our chef introduced new dishes such as Chicken Tikka Masala, fish specialities and grilled dishes. These quickly became very popular with customers.
We started adding more authentic dishes such as Mint Lamb, Naga/Scotch Bonnet chilli dishes, hot griddle dishes, and sweet & sour dishes such as King Prawn Suka.
Restaurant renovation created a new light & airy dining area. Adapted to meet Covid-19 challenges.
